Product Description
AC Magnetizing Coil (350mm 14 inch Inner Diameter) for NDT Magnetic Flaw Detection
The magnetizing coil is a 305mm(12 inch) inner diameter magnetizing coil that operates on alternating current (AC). It is specially designed for magnetic field detection of ferromagnetic materials. This product is compatible with both dry magnetic powder and wet fluorescent magnetic powder, and can also be used for demagnetizing materials after the testing process. It uses 220V, 50Hz AC power supply for stable operation.

Operation Steps

  1. Connect the coil to the AC power supply and press the foot switch. Insert a ferromagnetic object into the center of the coil; a noticeable magnetic force should be felt. During testing, the object to be tested should be longitudinally parallel to the coil's axis and placed as close as possible to the center of the coil's outer circumference.
  2. Press the foot switch, and after the coil generates energy, place the object to be tested. By maintaining a certain angle between the object and the coil axis, material defects can be detected effectively.
  3. If using wet fluorescent magnetic powder, the coil will generate energy approximately two seconds after the object is placed in the coil; move the component appropriately for comprehensive testing.
  4. After the testing is completed, the component can be demagnetized. Simply place the component near the outer circumference of the coil, drag the component 500mm along the coil, and then turn off the power supply. For large components, place the coil above the component and follow the same operation steps.

Precautions

The coil is designed with a 50% duty cycle, approximately 3 seconds on - 3 seconds off. If prolonged operation is required, ensure the off time is the same as the on time. Continuous operation may cause the coil to overheat and damage it. The coil is equipped with an overheat protection switch for added safety.
