The PHB-1 Pin Impact Brinell Hardness Tester applies the Brinell hardness test method and loads the test force by hammer impact, with the force precisely controlled by a shear pin. Accurate test force leads to excellent result consistency.
Test force F = 1580 kgf, diameter of test ball D = 7.26 mm, giving F/D² = 30. Based on the Brinell similarity principle, the test condition is equivalent to the standard condition of a 3,000 kgf, 10 mm test ball bench Brinell tester. Just hit on the side to test the part — low requirements on the shape and size of the test piece.
Unlike Leeb hardness testers, which require conversion of the measured value, the PHB-1 reads Brinell hardness directly. Reliability, repeatability and accuracy are higher than Leeb hardness testers and old-type hammer Brinell testers, and the result is widely accepted against product standards and drawings in international trade.
Only one low-cost shear pin is consumed for each test, so the running cost per measurement is very low.
